El Almendro is a traditional 3 bedroom detached villa
set in the quiet Santa Lucia residential area of Denia
and enjoys it’s own private pool. It has stunning
views of the mountain and the Montgo Mountain National
Park. Breakfast on the roof terrace or an evening BBQ
whilst enjoying a glass of wine as the sun sets over the
mountains in the distance is not to be missed! Originally
a two bedroom villa it has been extended so that the master
bedroom with En suite has patio doors thereby giving little
excuse for not taking that early morning dip.
Denia is an attractive historic town offering bars, restaurants,
fine leafy boulevards, excellent shops and supermarkets
overlooked by the ancient castle in the heart of the old
quarter. A traditional Spanish indoor market opens daily
in the centre of town providing fresh local produce. From
the bustling port, ferries run daily to Ibiza/ Mallorca
and the fishing fleet land their catch each evening which
can be purchased at the harbourside fish market. The town
is famous throughout Spain for it's many colourful fiestas
which take place throughout the year. They are important
local events, attended by everyone in town and visitors
are always made welcome.
Denia enjoys two well kept sandy Blue Flag beaches, the
northern beach extends for 15Km therefore there is space
in abundance. The southern beach whilst smaller –
1.26 km progresses to rocky coves ideal for scuba diving
(permission required from Tourist info). There is a very
pleasant 4 km walk along the whole length of this “Las
Rotas” sea front.
For children the theme parks, Terra Mittica, Terra Natura
and Aqualandia are about 40 minutes drive away Denia is
midway between Alicante and Valencia, approx 75 minutes
travel using the toll motorway. There are inland villages
to explore, surrounded by almond, orange, lemon trees
and vines. Many towns have fascinating museums, well worth
a visit. In these sleepy old world villages the local
bars offer amazing value if you fancy a leisurely lunch
– “menu del dia”, three courses including
a beer or soft drink for around 8 euros.
