Set on a olive-tree filled hillside, this spacious semi-detached classic Tuscan house with private access is perfectly situated for an idyllic, relaxing holiday in the heart of Italy.
The villa is in a tranquil environment with a stunning panorama and yet is only a few minutes drive away from the small town of Lamporecchio which has every amenity and is 6km from the historical birthplace of Leonardo Da Vinci; the beautiful village of Vinci.
The interior is typically tuscan, with terracotta flooring, beamed ceilings and is tastefully decorated with antique furniture. The rooms are large and airy with the house in total measuring 300 sqm. The owners, who use the independent attached apartment, speak fluent English and Italian, some French and German, will be delighted to greet you upon your arrival.
The villa is an ideal base for day trips throughout Tuscany. Visit the famous historic renaissance cities of Florence, Siena, Lucca, Pisa, San Gimignano and Arezzo. See the Duomo, Palazzo Pitti, Uffizzi, Galleria Accademia and Ponte Vecchio in Florence, the tower in Pisa, the frescoes in Arezzo, the incredibly beautiful Piazza where the twice yearly "Palio" is held in Siena and the bell towers at San Gimignano. Lucca and Arezzo are also well-known for their monthly antique markets. Drive into the wine regions and stunning countryside of Chianti, Valdarno, Montalcino and Carmignano and sample some of the world's best wine and food. Or for simple relaxation visit the nearby coastal towns of Viarreggio, and the exclusive resort of Forte dei Marmi. A little further away, about 1.5 hours in Liguria are the beautiful, romantic fishing villages of Cinque Terre, which are linked solely by train, sea and pathway. Nearby you will find the lovely city of Pistoia, home to the Pistoia Blues festival every July, the village of San Miniato, famous for its November Truffle fair and the spa towns of Montecatini Terme and Monsummano Terme (Grotta Giusti Spa & Wellness Centre"). Vinci is a short drive away and has an interesting museum dedicated to Leonardo da Vinci.
For fashionistas, naturally window-shop the designers in Via Tournabouni, Florence but if you are looking for a bargain you'll find the designer outlets of Gucci, Fendi, Dolce Gabbana, YSL, La Perla and about 60 minutes drive away at Incisa exit and Prada one exit further (Valdarno) both on A1 Motorway direction Rome.
