Details

Casa La Mora, a restored typical rural village house with beamed ceilings, tiled floors and windows with ornamental ironwork, has a cosy feel to it with its nooks and crannies.

On the ground floor there are pretty twin bedrooms each with ensuite bathroom and a study with writing desk and single bed opening onto the patio. A lush path leads through the small garden to the secluded swimming pool. On the first floor there is a spacious open-plan living/dining room with an open fireplace.

Sliding doors open onto a balcony with creeper-shaded dining area and views over the Hozgarganta river valley to the cork-oak clad slopes of the Alcornocales Park beyond. A well-equipped rustic kitchen under the slanted roof completes the accomodation on this floor. Once a frontier village between the Moors and Christians Jimena is set in the beautiful foothills of the Ronda mountains. It is a pretty village crowned by its Romano-Moorish castle.

The surrounding countryside is magnificent. Many old Andalucian towns and sites of historical and archaeological interest may be visited within a day's driving. Eating out at Jimenas many bars and nrestaurants is a pleasure and the shops are well supplied.
