Description:
Can Matas is a newly restored Catalan masia (farmhouse)
located in a very quiet and unspoiled valley. It is a
perfect place to have a peaceful and stress-free break
by enjoying nature.
The house is sitting in 42 hectares of fields and woods
that are part of the property -including a little river
that goes though it-, which offers the opportunity for
good adventurous walks. Furthermore, the whole area is
perfect for good walks or mountain bike tours (there are
several paths marked for that purpose including the famous
“Carrilet”, a 40 km path that goes from Olot
to Girona -Amer is approximately in the middle of that-).
The house is 1km away from Sant Climent d’Amer,
beautiful tiny village with a church, a cemetery and no
more than 4 houses. Shopping for food can be done in Amer,
a bigger but still very nice and old village 6 kms from
the house that offers you a great variety of old-style
shops. Amer also has several bars and restaurants, especially
around the main square with arches.
There are three buildings that constitute Can Matas:
the masia (320 m2), a barn (80 m2) and a stable (25 m2).
These three are linked by a stone wall that creates a
closed patio in the middle (which is perfect to have a
BBQ, a lunch/dinner outside or as a playground for children).
The masia is the living area, having 2 floors with 160
m2 each.
The ground floor has a dining room, a bedroom (with two
single beds), a complete toilet (with a “shower
room”), a room for the washing machine, a room for
storage, and the very spacious kitchen (equipped with
oven, vitro-ceramic cooker, microwave, refrigerator with
freezer, dishwasher and even a fireplace!).
The first floor has the following spaces: a very large
sitting room with a fire place, satellite TV/Radio and
a CD player; a reading studio; two double bedrooms with
double-beds; a bedroom with two big single beds; a complete
toilet (with bath tube and a “shower room”);
and a terrace with incredible views over the patio and
the fields and mountains outside.
Some logistics:
>Cleaning is done weekly.
>Changeover date is Saturday. To allow for cleaning,
people should arrive on Saturday between 16:00
and 21:00, and leave on Saturday by 10:00am. In mid and
low seasons there could be some flexibility
for the dates or the time.
