Villa Lycia, is spacious, contemporary in style and can accommodate up to 10 guests over three floors making it ideal for two families, a large extended family or a group of friends travelling together.

This villa has four bedrooms and a larger than average pool (approximately 50sq metres). The villa situated within a small hillside development of just three villas in the Ortaalan area of Kalkan. Villa Lycia has stunning views over both Kalkan and Kalamar bays and is set over three floors (the top floor is dedicated to one large bedroom suite with its own en-suite shower room, large roof terrace with table & chairs and two sunbeds). Villa Lycia is larger than average as each floor is approximately 70 square metres and inlaid travertine marble flooring has been laid throughout. The villa is fully airconditioned and will comfortably sleep up to 10 guests (we would however, recommend that the 9th & 10th guests are children as they will be accommodated on extra single beds in the large twin bedroom or on the sofa/daybeds in the living area - this arrangement would probably not suit 10 adults).

The walk into town will take around 15 minutes (downhill). Kalkan is considered to be one of Turkey's most sophisticated resorts and is fast becoming the country's premier resort for private villa holidays. It appeals to the more discerning tourist so if you're looking for nightclubs and British-style 'pubs', Kalkan is definitely not the resort for you! Dalaman is the nearest airport to the resort of Kalkan - transfer time by road is approximately 1.5 hours. The new Yesilkoy bypass opened in the summer of 2009 and this has reduced the transfer time by approximately 10 minutes (we can arrange private airport transfers for your party so please ask for details). It is possible to reach the villas via Antalya Airport, however, the transfer time is approximately 3 - 3.5 hours.

The climate in Kalkan is similar to that of Southern California and the sea water temperature rarely drops below 16°c allowing a bathing season of around 9 months. The resort also benefits from the 'Meltem' - a seasonal wind which brings a welcome breeze to the scorching summer afternoons! The town is situated on Turkey's gorgeous Lycian Coast and was once a simple Turkish/Greek fishing village. Today's Kalkan is quietly sophisticated and postcard pretty with a few good quality low-rise hotels, a selection of privately owned holiday villas and a multitude of excellent roof-top restaurants offering all manner of culinary delights, together with a good selection of of stylish and atmospheric blues and jazz bars. The village shops stay open 'til around midnight and are well stocked with interesting antiques, crafts, jewellery, carpets and clothing. The narrow streets of the old town are lined with whitewashed shuttered buildings festooned with brightly coloured bougainvillea intermingled with shops and terrace-topped restaurants. These streets twist down to the harbour, which is the focus of the village and here you can enjoy a meal whilst watching the world go by or by looking at the array of elegant 'gulets'.

During the day, you can make use of one of the many 'beach clubs', visit the local market, engage in some of the local sporting activities (such as water-skiing, parascending, scuba diving, trekking etc), take a trip to one of the historical sites, drive a jeep up into the mountains, cruise on a gulet or simply relax by your pool. Unlike some other Turkish coastal resorts, Kalkan's main economy derives from tourism and consequently, its inhabitants put much effort and pride into the town's historic preservation. As a result of very strict building regulations and the efforts of the Kalkan Foundation, the town has retained its charm and special ambience.

The wonderful hospitality of the Kalkan people is another reason why the first-time visitor invariably returns time after time.

Guest comments:
“I would like to say a huge thank you, the week we had was absolutely fantastic we didn't do a great deal due to the heat, but just sitting besides the pool was fantastic. The villa is amazing it is like a setting from Dallas. Arif is absolutely lovely, and so is his restaurant and the guys who work there. Anyway thank you once again on behalf of all of us.” – Wendy H and Family – Derbyshire – UK

“We had a brilliant holiday. The Villa was great and everyone that we met was so friendly. Arif was very helpful and our first evening was spent at his restaurant which we enjoyed. Thank you very much for everything, we had been looking forward to the holiday for so long and were not at all disappointed. We are seriously thinking of booking again for next August and will be in touch soon”. – Carol B and Family – Bexley - UK

“Had a lovely time, Kalkan and Kas are gorgeous! Take a day out on a boat trip (we went on the Moby Dick – fantastic day). If you go to Xanthos, talk to the old man who will give you a tour and show you places not on the tourist trail. Hope you have a great time as we did!” Sue, Paul & Alice, Warrington, UK

“Had a fantastic holiday! There are so many places to see – Patara Beach was beautiful and a good day out. Also, the ruins in the ancient village there are amazing to see. Kalkan is a great village to stay as there is so much to do. We took a boat trip which was a great day. The speedboats were great but the jet-ski's were the best fun! A good place to eat is the Arena – great food and a great laugh. Xanthos is worth a visit if you like Roman architecture. Lovely village and villa. One last thing, go and see Saklikent Gorge – it was amazing. We don't want to leave!!” Shaun & Becky – Northants, UK and Chris & Sara – Dunstable, UK

“Just letting you know we had a fantastic two weeks at Villa Lycia, weather could not have been any better – 33 degs most days and Kalkan was great. Arif has opened a new restaurant, ‘Lykia', and we ate there several times (very nice), the best one we found (also new this year) on the harbour front was called Trio's. The food there was fantastic”. – Alan and Glenys – Ellesmere, UK

“We really enjoyed our stay in Kalkan and the villa was lovely. Kalkan is a beautiful resort and has some amazing restaurants and hand bag shops as we discovered , much to our bank accounts dismay!! Many thanks for helping us to arrange a wonderful family week away”. – Reena P – Elstree, UK

“I'd just like to thank you, Arif and the cleaners on behalf of all my family. We had a great time at Villa Lycia. The view was amazing and the villa was just as described and more”. – Ann H and Family – London, UK

“Nice villa – nice place. Don't want to go home. For a boat trip, we'd recommend Yildis II (Osman). Really nice man / pilot / cook – he served us with fresh fish for lunch. Arena, Coast and Zeyno were my personal favourite eating places. The villa and staff were very nice.” Mick, Joy, Scotland

“Lovely resort, pretty day and night. Kalkan people are so friendly and happy, it rubs off on you (especially after a few drinks)! Good eating places en-mass (except the Chinese). A lady called ‘Selyan' at Magic Fingers is an excellent masseuse and made our holiday truly relaxing.” Keith and Nadine, Scotland “Had a fantastic time – Kalkan is magical! Have some Shi-Sha in the Ottoman Restaurant, do a day boat trip, try the Thursday market for souvenirs, fruit and nice bread. Kaputas Beach was our favourite. All the restaurants in Kalkan are fantastic – Sorfa, Paprika and Ibo's have the best chocolate crepes on this planet! We loved Kalkan and your fantastic villa – thank you Sue for all your advice and help. We hope to see you again soon! – forgot to mention these amazing cookies they have here called ‘ Tutku' – just go to any supermarket and ask for them. They have a melting chocolate centre!” Christian, Steffi, Marie, Nina, Jessica & Victoria, London - UK, Germany, Spain

“We tried all of the recommended restaurants and were particularly fond of Daphnes, Sofra, Zeki's and Ibo's – so many restaurants and so little time! (Visit Ibo's to go to the toilets)! Fantastic villa! What a view! Thank you to Sue and the cleaning ladies and to Ayhan the mini-bus man who drove us on a couple of excursions (Patara Beach, Saklikent Gorge – both well worth a trip) PS – someone was right about the Tutku biscuits, we've stocked up on about 20 packets so they last back in England. Yum!” Clive, Margaret, Grace, Ellen, Charlie, Lily, Pheobe and Sam, Berkshire, UK
