The annual Malta Jazz Festival takes place on 16th - 18th July this year (2009). A line-up of top international and Maltese artists present a mix of jazz styles. The festival takes place over three nights at Ta' Liesse in Valletta, which is easily accessible from many of the apartments and villas in Malta shown in the Villa Holidays website.
Previously, such names as John Scofield, Al Di Meola, Chick Corea, Dee Dee Bridgewater, Cubanismo, Petrucciani, Betty Carter, Joe Zawinul have all performed here.
The beauty of the Grand Harbour by night makes the atmosphere electric. Entrance is at a nominal charge with concessions for students and elderly citizens, as well as block ticket offers.
