Murcia, Spain is a province on the Costa Blanca. This Mediterranean region is sparsely populated except at the mouth of the three rivers which water the area. In most cases, there are no beaches here, so a villa in Murcia with its own private pool is recommended as the mountains drop down close to the sea. With extremely hot summers and mild winters, the region is home to sizable citrus orchards, while dryer areas grow vines and olives. The city of Murcia sits at the mouth of the river and boasts high Moorish influence throughout.

The massive city walls reflect the years of history under the rule of the Moors. Buildings of significant historical interest and apartments in Murcia stand on almost every street corner; most have been restored or are in the process of restoration. The centuries old Cathedral was begun in 1388 and took over 400 years before completion. Within its walls are over 23 different chapels built in different styles over the centuries. The people of Murcia, Spain are friendly and responsive to tourists.

There is some type of fiesta happening, no matter what time of the year you choose to visit the area or villas. Murcia is also the home of a large university of Spain and as such as hundreds of students attending. The presence of the students leads almost inevitably to the growth of bars and restaurants around the university campus.
